Born in Born in Roma, Queensland, in 1938 and orphaned at aged four, Arthur Rowe was raised with his younger brother, Bruce by their widowed grandmother, Sarah. Growing up in the then small towns of Gympie, Roma and Coolangatta, aunts and uncles stepped in to help his grandmother provide the boys with as much love and stability as possible.
Arthur joined the Navy in 1956, serving as an aircraft radio and radar mechanic until he was discharged and returned to Brisbane in 1962. Settling in Rochedale through the 1970's, Arthur raised three children and worked at General Motors Holden's Acacia Ridge plant before moving to Warwick and then to Stanthorpe in his retirement years. Arthur now resides in Brisbane.
