This is what was said about “Hitting Drills and Much More”:
An article in the September 1997 Babe Ruth Bullpen… “as the title implies, is much more than just a manual designed to help correct many common hitting mistakes like: stepping in the bucket, over-striding, and lunging. It also provides valuable information regarding the development and management of ballplayers. “Hitting Drills and Much More” is a book about keys to success.”
Hopewell Valley News:... “a book that makes people feel good about life—themselves. Enjoy the sunrises and sunsets, take time to sit back and relax, appreciate quality family time, slow down, and admire the beauty around us. That’s where the Much More, comes from.”
Bob coached and managed his son Rob, as well as daughters, Kim and Emily, in basketball, softball, and baseball. He studied major league coaches his brother Steve, a 15-year Major League baseball player and Minor League hitting instructor, played under: all helped Bob develop his coaching philosophies, in writing "The Art of Coaching". Bob managed his son's 12-year-old All Star Team and went on to win the South Jersey District Championship. During his senior year in high school, Rob went on to be named to the All Area baseball team and won the batting title with an average of 455. Bob played Little League and Babe Ruth baseball, as well as many years of slow pitch softball with his twin brother, Richard. Bob spent years working with his brothers, teaching in hitting clinics, helping future baseball players improve their technical hitting skills and to love the game of baseball.
Bob is a disabled Vietnam Veteran who received two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star Medal for bravery, and was awarded the New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal in 2000. After he was released from the Army, Bob graduated from Rider University, New Jersey, with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and a minor in accounting degree in February 1977. He then worked for 34 years as an auditor for the New Jersey State Treasury Department specializing in Inheritance and Estate Tax and has been retired since May 1st, 2010.
During this time, he self-published the first edition of “Hitting Drills and Much More” in 1996 and the book titled “A Story of Life” in 2000. He has had thirty-seven letters published in local newspapers to fight against untruths, injustice, discrimination, inequalities. He also had three stories about Vietnam published in a national magazine in the late 1990s; they are “The Sun at Last”, “Top of the World, Ma!”, and “With Me Still”, each are a chapter in his upcoming book, “Two Times Dead”. The story "With Me Still" describes the author's last mission in Vietnam, how he was injured, and how he lost his friend and fellow point man, Jack Rae Smith. The story is included in "Hitting Drills and Much More".
He published the second edition of “Hitting Drills and Much More” in February, 2021 that includes the story “Look Who’s Wearing the Apron" and "With Me Still". Reviews for "Hitting Drills and Much More"
L. Templeton - Perfect for nine-year-old grandson AND his Dad! It is their “go to” book about all the basics of baseball & sharing the tips & ideas together to learn the fundamentals, improve skills, & enjoy the great game together. I gave my book to my nine-year-old grandson. He liked it so much he takes it to batting practice three times a week and shares it with his fellow teammates.
J. Zinkle - After I got the book, I read it cover to cover, really enjoyed it, and plan to share it with my eighteen grandchildren, because I felt it would make them better team players, and help them in life.
