Philip Kelleway

Born in Mombasa, Kenya, to a British father and Bessarabian mother, Philip Kelleway is an art historian best known as an authority on the Zinkeisen sisters. Kelleway was a student at the universities of London (Goldsmiths' College), Reading, Marburg (Germany) and at UEA he gained a doctorate for his thesis on eighteenth-century European porcelain. He has worked in the antiques trade and agriculture. His chief research interests are landscape, illustration and twentieth-century British painting in general, whilst ceramics remain an abiding passion. In 2022 "The Art of Doris & Anna Zinkeisen", which Kelleway co-authored with the museum curator Emma Roodhouse and conservator Nicola Evans, was the winner of the General Non-Fiction Category in the prestigious East Anglian Book Awards. He lives in East Anglia with his wife and children.
