Joanne Foster

Joanne Foster, Ed.D. has a Master’s degree in Special Education and Adaptive Instruction, and a Doctoral degree in Human Development and Applied Psychology. Her writing reflects her experience as a parent, educator, consultant, university instructor, and community advocate.

Her most recent book is IGNITE YOUR IDEAS; CREATIVITY FOR KIDS, 2025 Bronze Medalist, Moonbeam Children's Book Awards (Nonfiction Chapter Book), and Winner, 2025 American Book Fest’s Best Book Award (Children's Nonfiction). She co-authored (with Dona Matthews) the 3rd edition of the multiple award-winning BEING SMART, entitled BEING SMART ABOUT GIFTED LEARNING: EMPOWERING PARENTS AND KIDS THROUGH CHALLENGE AND CHANGE. Dr. Foster is sole author of ABCS OF RAISING SMARTER KIDS: HUNDREDS OF WAYS TO INSPIRE YOUR CHILD, illustrated by Christine Thammavongsa, and Award Finalist, American Best Books; BUST YOUR BUTS: TIPS FOR TEENS WHO PROCRASTINATE (recipient of the IBPA Silver Benjamin Franklin Award); and NOT NOW, MAYBE LATER: HELING CHILDREN OVERCOME PROCRASTINATION. She co-authored, with Dona Matthews, BEYOND INTELLIGENCE: SECRETS FOR RAISING HAPPILY PRODUCTIVE KIDS. (Publishers' Weekly Starred Review).

Dr. Foster’s articles are featured in publications worldwide, online, and in Best Version Media Magazines, circulated across North America. She provides leadership in child development, creativity, motivation, and children’s well-being, and she works with parents, teachers, and other professionals.
