SID OATES

Married to his dear wife Jennifer, the proud father of two wonderful kids, Stuart and Lisa and grandfather to his adorable grandson Luke.

Sid was the youngest of four children: born in sight of local slag heaps on 19th May 1945 in the small pit village of Bramley Near Rotherham, on the same date as his dad.

In his youth, Sid was the archetypal angry young man growing up during the 1960s and studied at Hallam University, graduating with a degree in Industrial Law in 1969.

But that was then!. Sid is no longer the flag waving radical; and believes that breathing fire is the prerogative of dragons and is now the everyday cuddlesome granddad that enjoys the simple pleasures of writing poetic verse from the comfort of his favourite armchair with a mug of Yorkshire brew.
