Stephen E Paine

Stephen E. Paine is an award-winning screenwriter from the California Bay Area who made a dramatic midlife change by moving away from screenwriting and over to literary fiction where he made the best use of his unplanned downtime in the age of COVID-19 by writing six novels, all based on his original, unpublished screenplays. "The Last Battle of Wichita" (2021) is the first of these novels to be published. Along with this unique, sports-themed family drama set in the world of pro wrestling, Paine has also written horror, sci-fi, comedy-fantasy, and classic-style pulp fiction.

In addition to his writing pursuits, Paine co-hosts the podcast "Black Ink Red Film", and wrote, co-directed, and co-produced the low-budget film "Madness of the Foul". Professionally (his "day job"), Paine has over thirty years of experience in training program development and management at manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and medical device companies, including multiple Fortune 500 companies.
