Dustin Gibson

Hi, My name is Dustin Gibson and I'm a newly self-published author. I've always enjoyed writing since I was very young, I even remember writing a short story in school that made my teacher cry. She was so moved that she read it to the class the next day. Eventually my writing evolved into poetry and lyrics as I got older and busier, but I never lost my love for a short story. So I decided to return to my roots and take what felt like the next natural step to write my first children's book. The concept arose from lyrics I wrote years ago, "The leaves start to change clover green to sunset. My heart will rearrange, I'll forget how we met. I only have one shot to prevent that autumn rot." My story uses the metaphor of how autumn turns into winter to depict how we go through scary changes in life such as losing a loved one. It teaches kids that it’s inevitable to experience pain in life, But if you can get through it and come out on the other side, there will be peace waiting for you.
