James Flowerdew is an artist, illustrator, and occasionally a writer, from Edinburgh.

After a degree in Fine Art, and a few years muddling by as an indie game developer, he now paints, writes, and builds rather odd looking zithers full time.

As an artist, James purposefully takes an awkward stance on the crossroads, lurching between mysticism, fantasy, and reality.

An interest in folklore and ancient cultures has a habit of popping up in James's creations, but often the effect is grounding.

These fairytale creatures must visit the job centre, and the humdrum is never far away.
