I'm Brazilian and a citizen of the world, although I like to think that I'm a citizen of the universe. When I look at the sky on a starry night, I'm looking for a home that's far away in time and space, but very close to my heart.
At the age of two, my wandering lifestyle started, with constant moves between different houses, cities and countries. As an adult I spent some time in Cuba, then in the UK, and over the course of several periods in Barcelona, the city that I've been in love with since 2002, I met my friend the journalist Sonia Garcia, with whom I co-authored the book El Canto del Gallo and who revised the Spanish version of this book.
I wrote this story the day I found out I was pregnant. It was a great and profound moment of connection between souls, between my own being, the little person who was growing inside of me, and the universe.
I've always liked writing, but I only became a writer in December 2015 with the publication of Little Lilith in: Colours for Feeling Happy, the first book in the collection Paths for Feeling Happy, which already includes five stories and new proposals for translations.
Now I realise that I've always been a writer, although I've been writing not just with words but with actions, and that through my actions I leave a mark as I move through the world.
I've also done a lot more things: after finishing a doctorate in Communications, I worked as a university lecturer, a teacher and an entrepreneur. I've also been an actress, clown, pilgrim, backpacker, nanny, receptionist and waitress. None of these things define me, but in part they are what have made me the woman, mother, artist and spiritual being I am today.
