My love affair with 18th century England began with my mother’s passion for family genealogy. Many fond memories involve the two of us snooping about ancestral parishes and sifting through church records filling in blanks in our family tree. A great interest in these people developed, and what we couldn’t discover in the records, I began to invent.
I strive to bring forward historical gay experiences which were rarely told in their day. Those rare glimpses we have, often via criminal records, inspire a restlessness to know more about these people and flesh out their lives. By bringing my characters to life this way, I have come to a better understanding of myself and my world and hope to translate this into stories that are unique, informative and entertaining.
I am a native of the American Southwest and have spent much of my life living and traveling in Europe, particularly Great Britain, France and Finland. I currently live in the American Northwest – Helena, Montana – with my Finnish partner.
