I’m Albert S. Fu a full professor of sociology at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. I grew up in Orange County, CA. and earned my undergraduate degrees in history and sociology at UC Irvine. Later I received my PhD in sociology from SUNY Binghamton.
Broadly speaking, my work examines the intersection between built and natural environments. As such, I consider myself both an urban and environmental sociologist. I am also interested in how “culture” creates, defines, and controls space. I also have side interests in science and technology ranging from building technology (tied to my research) as well as tangential interests in the politics of open source software. More personal interests, include research on comic book/pulp heroes, science fiction, and popular culture.
