P.A. Brown

Penny Brown was born in a small village in England, which may or may not show up on a map. She relocated to Florida at age eight, where kids teased her for having a British accent. To combat her difference, she used words and phrases like 'y'all,' 'hey guys,' and 'let's head over yonder.' This attempt failed miserably. Now, Penelope is grown with an American accent and wishes she sounded more British.

Mrs. Brown writes across genres but mainly focuses on kids' literature. Her shift has led to comedic writing because of her two wildling boys, a somewhat redneck husband, and a dog that acts more like a house cat/squirrel. She loves to travel with family and has visited much of Europe and Central America. Penny's most horrific vacation memory was her inconsolable son screaming at the top of his lungs on the London Eye because he was hungry. She wants to formally apologize to the poor people trapped in their pod. Life lesson learned: Kids need to eat on time, or they become hangry little gremlins.

Penny earned her B.A. from Florida State University. Previously, she worked as an investment consultant and business advisor, wearing a polyester suit with tights in sweltering triple-degree weather. In 2014, Mrs. Brown released her first young adult novel, The Gatekeeper's Forbidden Secret. She is a member of International Thriller Writers and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. In addition, Mrs. Brown participates in local writing events and critique groups.
