Martha Dunlevy Peters is a native of northeastern Iowa who was raised near the banks of the Mississippi River. She maintains a lifelong connection to Lansing, Iowa where her family’s roots and stories run deep. Shaped by a close-knit community, a strong faith tradition, and the enduring presence of the Allamakee Journal, she developed an early love for storytelling and for capturing the voices of everyday people.
Although her professional path led her into the dental field, Martha never lost her passion for writing. In time, she answered that calling, picking up the pen to carry forward her family’s storytelling legacy. Her first book, Extracting Wisdom, reflects her commitment to excellence in oral and maxillofacial surgery, while Lansing Locals serves as both a heartfelt tribute to her hometown and a promise fulfilled.
Martha now resides in Kansas City, Missouri, with her husband and five children.
