A baby boomer born in the cold north, Carrie now spends her time living in the south and running a curriculum development company, Alpha UMi, that specializes in training the skills that support career sustainability and growth. These days, those skills have a large number of names including soft skills, human skills, entrepreneur skills, leadership skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills, emotional intelligence skills, and all too frequently overlooked are generational intelligence skills. Carrie believes that the old sit-and-get, sage-on-the-stage, be-lectured-at style of education is so 1990s and favors a facilitated discovery method of training.
Prior to Alpha UMi, she was an engineering consultant to the Navy for decades. It was a wonderful career supporting those men and women who defend our country.
When not working, she enjoys dinners with friends, hiking, and spending time with her grown daughters.
