Siamak Akhavan

Being an avid reader, researcher, and writer, I have always been interested in history, poetry, literature, and philosophy, especially those of Persian classical masters.

I hold an Aerospace Engineering degree, an MBA, and have performed management consulting and real estate design/development activities during my long commercial career.

My writing skills derive from the professional career and writing years. I also completed a number of writing courses and workshops at U.C. Berkeley. I have written a number of short stories and poems. The Universal Sign was my first full-length non-profit book. Over the years, I have translated the Persian poetries of Rumi, Hafiz, Khayyam, and Attar. After several years of being immersed in other tasks, the current project, ‘Omar Khayyam; Poems- A Modern Translation’ is my newly-completed non-profit effort.
