Kirk has enjoyed an amazing fitness career, first certified by Dr Kenneth Cooper in 1984 as a personal fitness specialist and group exercise leader in Dallas, TX..

Kirk’s goal was, and still is, to help others develop the fitness skills and motivational mindset that can last a lifetime.

Kirk’s youth is told in his book, Zero’s Heroes, and includes going up in a divorced family, fighting his father, running away from home at 17, almost murdered hitchhiking, yet unwilling to become a statistic. The martial arts gave Kirk a reason to build his fitness, self discipline and confidence.

In 1981, Kirk became the first personal trainer in the NFL, working with the 49ers. Kirk was hired by Charle Young, Tight End, SF 49ers, and the positive experience changed both of their lives for the better.

Career highlights include earning a Black Belt in Kenpo in 1975 and becoming the 1st Men’s National Champion in FitAerobics in 1984.

Appearing on the Morning Stretch TV show between 1983-1988. Kirk worked with inmates at San Quentin and filmed a TV show in the prison in 1985.

Kirk gave the Opening Keynote Address at the 1st World Aerobics Championships in Chiba, Japan in 1990.

Co-author of “Raisin Youth Fitness”, endorsed by Chairman Arnold Schwarzenegger of the Presidents Council and offered FREE to public schools in the USA.

Kirk was hired by UCSF to develop the training protocol for the landmark, published NIH-funded study on using exercise to build bone mineral density and prevent osteoporosis…

Thirty years later, on September 19, 2021, Kirk competed in 8 events in the California Senior Games, in Fitness, and won 8 medals, including 5 gold. Kirk competed in the 65-69 Mens Division. For example, 180 spins of a jump rope in 60 seconds wins a gold medal!

Kirk coaches men, women and children on healthy living, in mind, body and mental attitude. He has also started to coach other senior athletes with gold medal ambitions!

Today Kirk lives happily in Indianapolis with his wife, Dianna, their kids, dogs, cats and chickens. Kirk is a recurring fitness expert on the TV show, Indy Now, and leads the morning fitness warmups at FedEx.
