Araceli Luque Pineda

I was born in Barcelona in 1970 and currently live in Malaga. Both cities are deeply connected to who I am and to the way I write.

I have always felt that some stories exist before us, live within us, and patiently wait to be told. I write from emotion, memory, and the invisible connection between what is lived, dreamed, and somehow recognized as our own.

I began writing at a very young age, driven by an almost inevitable need to give shape to the worlds and characters already living inside me. At fourteen, I discovered typing on an old Olivetti machine my parents gave me, unaware they were placing in my hands the beginning of my journey as a writer.

Since publishing my first book in 2013, I have written adult fiction, children's literature, and short story collections exploring identity, time, love, memory, and the invisible marks people leave on one another.

The Lady in the Shadow is perhaps the most intimate novel I have written so far, a haunting and evocative story about who we are, where we come from, and what remains of us beyond time.

I write because I feel it deeply. Because some stories never truly end. They simply wait to be remembered.
