David Pickford

David Pickford is a writer, climber, photographer, and explorer. He is one of Britain's leading adventure sports writers. He has edited a variety of adventure media publications including two national magazines. He was editor-in-chief of Climb magazine for many years, and in 2019 he led the launch of BASE, a multidisciplinary adventure sports print magazine, which he also edited for several years.

David is the author of three books. The Light Elsewhere: Encounters With The Elemental World, a photographic essay documenting adventure sports and wilderness landscapes, was published in 2013. After the Crash and other stories, a collection of short fiction, was published by Vertebrate Publishing in 2015.

David's latest book, Extreme Horizons: the climbing & adventure essays, was published in October 2023.
