M. Jane Hawkins

M. Jane Hawkins writes fun picture books for kids 3-8 that have a quiet emphasis on kindness, and friendship. First writing short stories, she found her real love when she turned a family story into her debut picture book in 2017. Midwest Book Review called A Truck Named Tony “an original and utterly charming picture book story . . .” Tony the Truck and the Christmas Delivery followed in 2022 both published by Doodle and Peck Publishing. Jane’s new picture book, Emma Jean Johnson is in a Mood, (Solander Press 2026) continues her emphasis on friendship in a fun and funny read-aloud. She taught seventh grade English and has mentored third graders. When she’s not writing, Jane enjoys playing pickleball, golf takes way too long, lunching or zooming with friends, or curling up with a good book. She and her husband live in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and enjoy extended tine at St. George Island, Florida, when possible.
