Simone Carter

Simone Carter is a prolific British artist and cartoonist. She is the creator of Nellie Doodles, a series of cartoons inspired by her pet greyhound Nellie.

From a young age, Simone has found personal fulfilment in drawing and painting. However, it wasn’t until she stepped into the wonderful world of greyhounds after adopting Nellie 15 years ago, did she feel compelled to express her love, insights and observations of the humorous side of greyhound behaviour through a series of exuberant and imaginative cartoons.

Nellie was Simone’s muse and provided her with the fanatical drive and focus to create cartoons every day for over a decade.

Her uniquely witty, playful and memorable work has admirers worldwide, and her cartoons have been merchandised into a range of products. This has raised thousands of pounds for various global greyhound charities.

The delightful collection of cartoons in this book demonstrates how the strong bond between Nellie and Simone has inspired so many beautifully drawn, funny, poignant and entertaining drawings which reflect the story of the love that we have for our dogs and the boundless joy they bring us each and every day.

Through Nellie Doodles, Simone vividly conveys her warm, all-pervading comic spirit, and dear Nellie, the greyhound, has left behind a remarkable legacy.
