Alice Gaines

Alice Gaines is an educator and mom to 3 spirited children! Although she never planned on becoming an author her love for educating children and encouraging self-love and positivity led her to this place. While teaching her youngest daughter to read she noticed that the characters in the books that she was being assigned did not look like her daughter and she was having a difficult time relating to the story plots. She wondered if the lack of diversity in children’s books was causing her little one to have a difficult time identifying with the characters, if other children were facing the same barriers. With that quest in mind she began the search for books that fostered diversity and highlighted characters that her children could more closely relate to. After being less than satisfied with some of the choices on the market she decided it was time to create what she was looking for, not only for her family but for families all over the world! She wanted to create stories that would showcase our differences in a positive light and encourage both self-love and the love of reading for early readers and children or all ages. These feel good stories paint our difference as what make us special leaving children feeling empowered and loved and uplifted. In a world that is not always kind stories like this need to be told more than ever!
