Terry was born and raised in Salem, Virginia, with two loving parents and three brothers. He grew up in a family with a deeply motivated political conscience. Terry has always been involved in politics, having been a campaign manager for several years for a local politician. Terry’s first book was entitled The Newcomer’s Guide to Winning Local Elections. Terry was motivated to write this book to bring to the forefront what is going on in this country and to try and restore our crumbling democracy.
Terry is a graduate of the University of Virginia and received a bachelor degree in Physics. He has two post-graduate degrees; one from Union University in Mechanical Engineering and the other, a MBA, from Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute.
After graduating from the University of Virginia, Terry served for two years as a volunteer for the Peace Corp in Swaziland, Africa, now known as the Kingdom of Eswatini. There Terry taught science and manufacturing processes to students at a high school/college level (ages 14-21).
Terry worked in the nuclear power field for over 30 years. After Terry retired from the nuclear power field and, following Hurricane Katrina, Terry joined forces with FEMA to rebuild communities devastated by disasters. He worked with FEMA for over 10 years. Terry is now fully retired and lives in Vermont, with his exceptionally brilliant and beautiful wife, Cindy. Terry has two children and three delightful and charming grandchildren, which he adores.
Terry loves anything outdoors – hiking, fishing, camping, canoeing, skiing, boating, but his most passionate outdoor activity is sailing. Terry has sailed in numerous places around the world!
