A brief insight into my writing. I was made redundant just before the COVID outbreak and challenged myself to write a novel. That struggle culminated in my debut novel “DREAM HOUSE”. It tells the story of the Robinson family as they try to build a new life in their Dream House. What begins as the perfect house soon turns sinister when the previous owners return demanding that they sell the house back to them, just days after they move in. If you enjoy contemporary domestic dramas, then I think you'll like this one.

Of late my focus has been on the Inspector Scott Bee series set in my home area of The Surrey Hills, and specifically the town of Reigate, where my detectives are based. I try to wrap my stories around real-life events to add an extra dimension of realism, this varies from Oasis concerts to the road blocking tactics of Extinction Rebellion.

In a similar vein, my two detectives are based on real-life friends, although my portrayals are far from been biographical, they have borrowed certain individual traits; Springsteen and beer to name two. If you enjoy cosy crime, as I do, then these books are for you.

I live in Surrey with my wife and our daughter, plus a monster-sized cat called Tiger, who can occasionally be found sitting on the spare chair in the study wondering what I am doing at the keyboard. Sometimes he's not the only one.

I write Monday to Friday , usually between lunch and tea with the second part of the school run squeezed in there somewhere. I aim to write a minimum of 500 words a day but often delete them all in my quality check the following day.

When not writing you can find me either slicing golf balls into the rough, hitting tennis balls into the net or drinking beer.

It has been awarded Highly Recommended by the Open Book Awards 2025. Okay, not first prize, but on the podium!
