Susan Clawson

Susan Clawson has been telling stories for most of her life, although the road to becoming a published author was anything but direct.

A native New Englander, Susan grew up in Vermont and graduated from a high school jokingly named 'Cow Valley Union', because fields of cows surrounded it. She later graduated from college with a degree in psychology with every intention to pursue a master's degree - until she answered a local ad to sell AFLAC insurance to farmers. She took a day off from work, made sales to more than seven farmers, and never looked back. Sales, although not that particular kind, became her career.

Life eventually brought marriage, three children, and, years later, a return to one of her earliest passions: writing. The landscape, small towns, changing seasons, and independent spirit of the region she grew up in stayed with her throughout life - and eventually found their way into her fiction.

She wrote and published 'An Ultimate Passage: The Children's Journey', which is no longer in print and is now being redeveloped under its intended title - 'The Final Journey: Children only' - as a planned trilogy, for both print and screen. Susan also authored 'Parent/Teen Stories: No Judgment ', in which she collaborated with several authors to share short stories about family challenges surrounding substance abuse, anorexia, abuse, and more.

Currently, Susan is the author of the 'better lands' dystopian series, an expansive series of survival, friendship, resilience, and the search for hope in a world dramatically changed by an unidentified global threat. She has since expanded her storytelling into screenwriting and the development of her original 'better lands' story for film and television.

Most recently, Susan was honored to be asked to contribute a chapter to John Spender's 'Journey of Riches: The Power of Self-Belief', part of the 'Journey of Riches' collaborative book series.
