Marian Mure?an

Marian Mureșan is an author, award-winning researcher, speaker, and Professor Emeritus focused on mathematical analysis, optimal control, nonsmooth analysis, nonsmooth methods in economics, Mathematica®, nonlinear optimization, ordinary and partial differential equations, special functions, challenging mathematics problems for students, linear algebra and curves and surfaces in R³.

In his newest book, Mathematica® and Differential Equations, Professor Mureșan aims to show that there are symbolic and numerical solutions for some differential equations and that such solutions can be created using graphical means. The first part of the book focuses on ordinary differential equations and the second on partial differential equations. The elementary unit of the book is referred to as a ‘problem’. A problem is a differential equation or a differential equation with conditions (ex. initial value). Mathematica® and Differential Equations is aimed at undergraduate, graduate and PhD students, researchers, and those with an interest in this topic.

Professor Mureșan’s most recent books include Introduction to Mathematica® with Applications (Springer, London, 2017) and A Concrete Approach to Classical Analysis (Springer, New York, 2009).
