Dr. Mark Liederbach serves as the Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Life at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is also a Professor of Theology, Ethics, and Culture and is a Senior Fellow for the L. Russ Bush Center for Faith and Culture. His interests and research have centered on Christian ethics, Natural Law, marriage and family, environmental ethics, Christian apologetics, and other applied issues in ethics.
Dr. Liederbach earned his Ph.D. in Theology, Ethics, and Culture from the University of Virginia, his M.A. in Historical and Theological Studies from Denver Seminary, and his B.S. from James Madison University.
After serving with Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) for several years at Virginia Tech and West Virginia University, Dr. Liederbach began teaching at Southeastern in 2000. He has been both the VP of Student Life and the Dean of Students since 2011.
Dr. Liederbach and his wife, Harriette, have been married since 1990. They have three children – Daniel, Hannah, and Katherine – and two grandchildren – Darius and Ellie Joy. He is an Elder at North Wake Baptist Church and has written or edited several books, including The Convergent Church, Defending the Faith, True North, Chasing Infinity, and Ethics as Worship.
