I wrote a short story in 2004, Single-Handedly, My First Years as a Single Mom. 113 pages.

Now I write about God being with Me. I was inspired by God to write about the women of the Bible, as mentioned in the introduction to the study. I am not done yet!

I started teaching in 1974, teaching was fun, fulfilling and simple and easy. My inspiration was my mother, she was a teacher. Then education discovered that not all students were reached. Training began on the different learning styles. Teaching became complicated. It was still fun and fulfilling, but education became complicated. Education continued its studies on teaching techniques and students became lab rats and we became the lab coats. Education lost its purpose: to educate. Paperwork and more paperwork made us lose focus. We are still discovering what our minds can do…

I pray I may reach all Christians. I may not reach all learning styles, but I just want to share the scriptures found throughout the Bible on women who I think made a difference in the history of the Bible. The book of the Bible is for everyone. I wrote this study because I wanted to share and formalize the study for others who may want to read about the Women of the Bible’s characters. We can inspire others to think about these scriptures. And for the males who have a mother, a sister, a wife or just a friend you may want to read my Bible Studies.

I studied at the University of Connecticut where I lived most of my adult life. And after some irreconcilable differences between my Doctoral Counselor, (a professor from Peru), and I, I decided to take what I had and I ended my studious years at UCONN. I quit my doctoral studies. I graduated with a Diploma in Professional Education, a study beyond the master’s degree. My doctoral thesis was on Death and Dying and I wanted to present the circle of life to students. (1991) I wanted to develop a course for students dealing with the death of someone close. Many of our students lost someone close to death. There were few stories back then for students on this matter. Lucille Clifton, wrote Everett Anderson’s Goodbye. Her children’s book was excellent and I thought we needed more writings about the taboo topic of death. I did get involved in writing a curriculum for History with UCONN and the Hartford Humanities Society. And years later, I also was involved in a consortium to develop a curriculum to teach our students in our public schools Mandarin for the suburbs around us were developing magnet schools who taught other languages and one of them was Mandarin. In other words, I wrote a few grants. We turned the public school I was working at into Asian Studies Academy in Hartford, Connecticut. The students were taught Mandarin. We created activities related to the culture and language of China. A small group of us got to go to Beijing, China to immerse ourselves into the culture and language. I spent a month in China, mostly Beijing. This was a small core group of teachers and consultants. The year I retired a group of students traveled to China. I love retirement and I love Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I appreciate you reading my studies.

I have updated this BIO to add that I have written more studies dedicated to Women of the Bible. Make Them Famous, The Queens, And Then There was Mary and in Spanish: Ahi Esta Maria. I have also written three children's stories with/in both languages, English and Spanish: An Ant Story /La hormiguita, The Red Ants, and The Little Black Ant/La hormiguita prieta.

Prayers for our Veterans from my first couple of studies:

These are from my year as Chaplain of the American Legion Post 178 in Murrells Inlet of South Carolina. As a Veteran and Military Brat myself, I have been involved with the Organization. I have been their Finance Officer, Historian, Honor Guard, Chaplain and Secretary of the Riders. I do ride! And as we say at our post, “We ride for God and Country! God Bless America!”

In the Bible Jesus refers to the sword several times, once to rebuke Peter for cutting the ear off of a centurion. “If you live by the sword, you will die by the sword.” But, on another occasion Jesus sends out the Disciples and recommends, “do not take anything with you, not a purse, not anything.” Yet, at the end when Jesus is near death, He tells His Apostles that if they do not have a sword, sell what you need to buy a sword AND take it with you.” With these thoughts I conclude this study, my friend and brothers and sisters. Peace be with you!

Lord God Almighty, we gather to praise and thank you for the countless blessings. We do not hunger and we pray for those who hunger. We do not thirst and we pray for those who thirst. We have peace and we pray for those who are fighting for peace. Lord God, there are invasions everywhere, to our South, also to our east and we shout out for your mighty angels to protect us from these invasions. We pray for all of our military active duty members. Please give them the strength you gave Moses and David. Protect their families from anxiety. As surely as the Lord lives, deliver us from every trouble. We pray for all of our veterans to hold on strong to the shield of faith. We pray so the families are always brought together and praise your Holy Name. We pray that God will hear as we cry out for each of our own intentions. Amen"
