Alan Race has pursued a career as an Anglican priest with academic interests in interfaith theology and dialogue. He is Executive Chair of the World Congress of Faiths and has spoken at many international gatherings. He is now a retired priest-theologian and continues to publish books of interfaith interest. His classic study of Christian approaches to religious plurality 'Christians and Religious Pluralism' (1983) created a typology of responses in terms of 'Exclusivism', 'Inclusivism', and 'Pluralism', terms which continue in use 40 years later. He is Editor of the journal 'Interreligious Insight', produced by the World Congress of Faiths.
