Melissa Toyo

Melissa Toyo is a native of Charlotte, NC. She is a first-time author who is inspired by her two daughters and the lack of diversity in current children’s books. Melissa wrote an enjoyable book with the goal of teaching children of color to embrace the beauty of their brown skin. Melissa’s passion is prevalent in this book and will continue to be evident and shine in future stories.
