Jackie Burns

Hello readers

My name is Jackie Burns, I was 57 when I wrote Poppy and Noah.

All through school I struggled with reading and writting, it was only when I went to college to gain qualifications for uni that one tutor realised that I may be dyslexic and sent me for tests. I had a three hour test and the results showed that I was indeed dyslexic. Being dyslexic just means you have to learn in a different way, so if anyone out there is struggling at school please let your teacher or parents know and they can get you help.

Like Noah I moved from a town to a small village. I work in a local Activity Park during the winter we work less days so I decided to write a book. The book was meant to be just for myself as a project. I was telling one of the ladies I work with and she asked if she could read it, so I printed it off for her. After reading the book she told my husband (as she saw him first) that she thought it was fabulous and then past it onto an other colleague who also gave it good reviews. Then others wanted to read it and again good reviews so I thought, if they like it maybe others would like it too. I reseached publishes and sent the book off to six, within a couple of months I recieved three offers to publish my book and so my journey began.
