Vickie Rubin's memoir Raising Jess A Story of Hope is the recipient of the Gold Medal Award from Reader’s Favorite International. Vickie recently won two additional awards for Raising Jess from Best Books Awards and Books Excellence Awards.

Vickie graduated with her master’s degree in exceptional education from SUNY Buffalo State College with the President’s Award for Outstanding Graduate Student. Before writing her book, Vickie was the director of the Early Childhood Direction Center (ECDC) for Oishei Children’s Hospital, Kaleida Health. Vickie is experienced working with families of children with special needs and professionals and presenting workshops on various topics related to improving outcomes for young children.

Vickie and her husband Mitch celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary in 2021. They have three children and three grandchildren, and two very active dogs.
