Leslie Davis Burns

Dr. Leslie Davis Burns, Professor Emerita at Oregon State University and President of Responsible Global Fashion LLC, is an award-winning scholar and educator around topics related to sustainability in the fashion industry. She has authored/co-authored over 75 papers in refereed research journals and 10 books including Stories of Fashion, Textiles, and Place: Evolving Sustainable Supply Chains (2021); the best-selling textbook, The Business of Fashion: Designing, Manufacturing, and Marketing, now in its 6th edition (2020); and Sustainability and Social Change in Fashion (2019). She edited Fashion Business Cases: A Student Guide to Learning with Case Studies (2020) in her role as the inaugural Editor-in-Chief of Bloomsbury Fashion Business Cases. Dr. Burns is a past-president and Fellow of the International Textile and Apparel Association and received this organization’s Distinguished Scholar and the Educator of the Year Awards; in addition to multiple teaching, research, and leadership awards from Oregon State University. Dr. Burns received her B.A. from Washington State University and Ph.D. from Purdue University.
