Julien Carbonnell

Julien Carbonnell, Ph.D. researcher and entrepreneur, expert on civic technology and smart city, started his career as an independent real estate developer in the south of France, after his graduation in psychology. Early attracted by the potential of the internet to co-design urban projects with neighbouring inhabitants, he built its experience of citizen engagement by participating to many local projects from various perspectives: non-profits, startups, think tank. He finally joined an academic research laboratory to strengthen its field observations with a scientific establishment and data analysis. Nowadays Julien keeps evolving its theory as a digital nomad, travelling and participating to urban development projects engaging local citizens.
