Joshua M. Murray

Joshua M. Murray is assistant professor of English at Fayetteville State University, a constituent institution of the University of North Carolina. He specializes in African American literature with emphasis on the Harlem Renaissance, transnationalism, and autobiography and life writing. His work has appeared in the Journal of West Indian Literature, Atlantic Studies, Teaching Hemingway and Race, and Critical Insights: Harlem Renaissance, among others. His current research project examines the prominence of transnational and diasporic themes within key works of the Harlem Renaissance by analyzing the sociohistorical significance of the way extranational sites captivated the literary imagination of the period. When not teaching African American studies, he also teaches courses on video game storytelling and legal studies.
