Naima is a native of Yonkers and White Plains, NY. She graduated from White Plains High School in 1990. Naima attended North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC and graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance, in 1994. In 1999, she graduated from Pace University, Lubin School of Business with an MBA in Finance and HR Management. Naima enrolled in the SUNY New Paltz, Education Administration program and graduated in 2007. Naima was the Youth Minister at Calvary Baptist Church from 2015 through 2021. In 2017, she completed the Institute of Youth Ministry Certificate Program at Princeton University Theological Seminary. In 2023, Naima graduated from NYU’s Educational Leadership and Innovation doctoral program.
She worked in the Financial industry from 1994 to 2003 in Municipal Finance and Diversified Investment Advisors, respectively. In 2003, Naima transitioned to Public Education as a Business Teacher at the middle and high school levels. In 2010, Naima was employed by Peekskill City School District as an Administrator at Peekskill Middle School and in 2016 transferred to Peekskill High School as an Assistant Principal, where she currently serves in this capacity. Naima is most proud of being an awesome mom to her 16-year-old son Tyler and author of the book Wonderfully Made:Loving and Teaching in a Different Light.
