R. A. Yates : Raised in Florala, Alabama. He holds a master's of education degree in biology, from Alabama State University, a bachelor's degree in science education from Troy State University. Mr. Yates was a teacher for 28 years and writes on his experiences as a teacher and an amputee. He promotes handicap outreach and awareness. He currently resides in south Alabama with his wife, Donna, their children, and grandchildren.
Mr. Yates is a veteran of the US Army and served one tour of duty as a combat medic. He has a deep love of all things southern. He frequently writes about New Orleans, the beaches of Northwest Florida, and southern lifestyles.
He has written three novels; Finding the Lost Pieces (2021), To Find the One (2022), and Healing Home (2023). The two short stories written by him are Harvest Dance-The Story of Grancer Harrison and Veranda Wedding. His books have spent over 30 weeks on the the best selling list. Finding the Lost Pieces and Healing Home have been the most popular novels. Both of the short stories have received positive reviews from readers.
