Mark Harland

Born in Malta in 1953, Mark has an exciting and diverse background. He has lived or worked in many countries including Great Britain, Malta, Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia as well as travelling extensively in Australia and North America.

Mark now lives on the stunning North Yorkshire coast and enjoys daily walks with ocean views - a far cry from his native Mediterranean but still capable of providing the quiet inspiration so beloved of all authors.

He attended St. Andrew's Army School in Malta and St. George's Army School in Hong Kong, both establishments providing pleasant but highly disciplined regimes!

Mark writes memoirs, novels and travelogues based on his experiences in all those parts of the world.

The novels range from political satire to political thrillers and his next novel - The Maltese Mandarin - is a roller-coaster sequel to The Takeaway which provided a plausible solution to the problem of China's dominance over Hong Kong. The Maltese Mandarin will be available on Kindle from August 2021.
