Anna B Sexton

Anna is an artist, social entrepreneur and curator of creative educational content that inspires creativity and nurtures talent in people across diverse communities globally. She has over 30 years’ experience working within the arts, creative industries, education, digital, regeneration and social care sectors. She currently supports freelancers, founders and co-founders to flourish across the Liverpool City Region, UK.

She founded Open To Create… in 2003 as a social enterprise using open, collaborative and creative thinking led approaches to come up with creative responses to pressing issues in communities such as lived experience of mental health, seen and unseen disabilities and access to digital skills.

Clients include The V&A, UCL, UAL, G Adventures, Google, The Princes Trust, Mental Health Foundation, Conway Hall, Dulwich Picture Gallery, Diabetes UK, You Make It, Hackney Museum, London Transport Museum, London South Bank University, LSE.

She uses a range of creative thinking, making, coaching, enterprise mentoring & person centred facilitation skills to co-create bespoke confidence building, professional development & business development training courses. These courses open learners up to their unique skills and talents with the aim they can take their new motivation into enhancing any areas of their lives.

Skilled at sales, fundraising and business development Anna has been part of drawing in over £10 million pounds worth of investment via money and in-kind/pro bono over the last 15 years. She has co-founded a series of peer to peer development networks for creatives and start up business owners – We Love Marlborough and East London Creative Business Women’s Network.

She is a member of Antiuniversity NOW and The Other MA (TOMA); peer led alternative education communities finding new, sustainable and self directed ways to sharing ideas, creative skills and opportunities.

Her motto is “You don’t have to be an artist to be creative” and her passion is supporting anyone she meets to discover their own creative ‘thing’ that lights them up.
