Upon discharge, he became a commercial diver and worked underwater until an economic downturn forced him back onto dry land. He returned to college, waterlogged, and earned degrees in political science and law. He then spent 20 years as a lawyer before quitting to take up writing. His first novel, 𝘓𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘞𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘔𝘢𝘺, was published in March 2021 to no acclaim whatsoever. He lives lakeside with two cats, Bandit and Maggie Winkler, and a dog, Jingo.
