Kayla Harris Cohen

Kayla Harris Cohen wrote The Full Severity of Our Connection: Lessons from the Jewish Diaspora during the COVID-19 pandemic. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Kayla drew from her gap year in Jerusalem, her dual undergraduate degrees in history and comparative literature from UC Berkeley, and her mixed origins.

Kayla was an international finalist for the Alexander E. Norman Award and received 1st place in Bedford Ledger’s 2016 issue for her poetry. Her articles have been published in New Voices Magazine, Zaman Collective, The Jewish Journal, and The Daily Californian.

When not writing, Kayla can be found snuggling with her family’s puppy, preparing another cup of coffee, or testing vegan renditions of her grandma’s recipes on brave consenting friends.
