Hermione Lee

A director of words and a scientist of multiple genres, Hermione Lee is an award-winning author of YA fantasy, romance, horror, and contemporary fiction. She was a gold medalist in the 2026 Florida Authors and Publishers Association (FAPA) President’s Book Awards, the 2024 Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards, and the 2023 Readers’ Favorite International Book Awards. She also placed Finalist in the 2024 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. She also writes YA fiction for Evernight Teen Publishing and World Castle Publishing, and she is published by Olive Press Publishing under the pen name Aveney Leigh. As a firm supporter of human creativity, she is against AI-generated books and believes that if an author does not care about the book enough to write it, then no reader should care enough to read it.

Apart from writing, Hermione Lee's interests include watching crime documentaries and YouTube comedy skits, listening to Alan Walker, Agnetha Fältskog, Sia, Chyi Yu, and Lady Gaga's songs, and rewatching Inside Out for the one-hundredth time. She is also an avid fan of the Angry Birds franchise. As an eclectic eccentric and an eccentric eclectic, she mothers over a thousand mini resin ducks of all colors and a fuzzy snooty female gray-and-white stuffed Malayan tapir aptly named Tapir.
