David Dj. Dasic was born in Montenegro (Brezojevice, Plav, 1941) and graduated from the Faculty of Economics. Dasic obtained his MA and PhD degrees from the University of Belgrade law school, where he was elected to all teaching titles, earned the title of Professor Emeritus, and became a member of the Serbian Scientific Society. Dasic held multiple public roles in the SFRY and Montenegro. Dasic was an adviser to the SFRY Presidency, functionary in the leadership of Montenegro, deputy federal minister for energy and industry, chairman of the Yugoslav portion of the Permanent Commission on the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy at the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance (COMECON) in Moscow, special adviser to the federal government, ambassador within the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the deputy head of the Foreign Economic Relations Division (1987-1989). Dasic was also the consul general of SFRY in New York City and adviser to the UN Economic and Social Council (1989-1992), foreign policy special advisor to the Yugoslav Prime Minister, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the FRY in Brazil (1994-1999), and was the head of Montenegro's trade mission in Washington D.C. (1999-2001).He completed his diplomatic career in 2004 and has since continued his academic studies. Dasic is currently a full professor at the Law Faculty of Union University and the European Center for Peace and Development at the United Nations University in Belgrade, as well as a visiting professor at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.He has published over 250 bibliographic units in macroeconomy, microeconomy, international economy, international relations, and diplomacy. Among other published books: History of Diplomacy-Evolution of Diplomatic Method in Political History, Diplomacy- Contemporary and Economic, Principles of International Economy, Principles of Economics, Market Economy - Micro and Macro Considerations, and System and Price Policy.Eight of his books are in the U.S. Library of Congress. He has been the reviewer and editor of ten books and quoted in numerous texts. Dasic was awarded with the Medal of Labour with a golden wreath.
