Paul Weiss

A native New Yorker, Paul moved to California after studying with the Jesuits at the University of San Francisco and Canisius College in Buffalo. Eventually, he served as director of the Sansum Medical Research Foundation in Santa Barbara, then founded and directed two international nonprofit organizations, Los Niños and Americas Children, to help the poorest kids in the Americas.

Paul, the father of five children, considers himself a rich man. He spent 3 decades ministering to poor children and to tens of thousands of God’s richest children who worked with him to create a world in which fewer innocent children would suffer. He learned that every person passionate about healing the world and making it more human and caring has to understand that the quickest way to do this is to educate and nurture children. And, further, if we are to fill the empty bellies of hungry children, we must first warm the cold hearts of the rich, those who control the world’s resources. Cigarettes and the climate deeply concern children as the author makes clear in his first two novels, Cigarette Break and Climate Break.

After seeing the forest die around his home near Yosemite and losing his home to the Oak Fire in 2022 which also destroyed 126 other homes, he became totally committed to climate rescue.

Paul lives in Buenos Aires and Rosslyn, VA just steps from Washington DC with his wife, Laura Inés Rodríguez, a retired Argentine social worker for special children.
