I live on the south coast of England with my wife, my son and our Basset Hound, Benson. I have a daughter and beautiful granddaughter who live close by.
I enjoy writing, reading and almost all sports.
'Ignorance and Fear' is my first published work. I wrote it to raise awareness of bowel cancer, as following my own diagnosis, I realised I knew very little about this disease, which is now the UK's second biggest cancer killer.
The book takes the reader through my 'journey' from symptoms to surgery and a challenging chemotherapy regime. Thankfully I was extremely well looked after by the medical professionals and thanks to them and, undoubtedly, a whole lot of luck, I am in remission and have been for five years. I still bear the physical and mental scars of my experience, as I'm sure, other cancer sufferers also do.
I hope that anyone reading about my personal battle will be a little less ignorant and fearful of a cancer diagnosis.
