Stig Regli

Stig Regli follows his Viking heritage having traveled extensively throughout the world. He considers his travel on bicycle (15,000 kilometers of touring), foot, rail, or motor vehicle to be one of the most important aspects of his life. Bicycling is his favorite mode of transportation, offering a slow pace for experiencing surroundings, opportunities to meet people from many backgrounds, while leaving a small carbon footprint. He has worked in Afghanistan as a Peace Corps Volunteer, in Somalia with Africare, and in Thailand as a part time consultant for the US Agency for International Development. Stig retired in March 2021 after 40 years of public service with the US Environmental Protection Agency developing drinking water regulations as an environmental engineer, regulation manager, and senior policy advisor - receiving a Distinguished Career Service Award. He is on the Teachers Council and Board with the Insight Meditation Community of Washington. He lives with his wife, two daughters, and two dogs in Arlington, Virginia.
