Vladimir Simonovski is a structural engineer and co-founder of VLS Engineering, LLC., (www.vlsengineering.com) a structural consulting company comprised of highly skilled engineers, designers and forward-thinkers.
Prior to co-starting his own company, Vladimir gathered extensive design and construction knowledge and experience by working on high profile infrastructure projects around the U.S. On some projects, his experience was gathered by being a part of the design team and on other projects Vladimir made his presence known in the field, by directly getting involved in construction, as part of the construction team. This balanced mix of experience, coupled with a strong work ethic, gave Vladimir the outlet for his interest in reinventing how problems are viewed and finding solutions by utilizing technologies such as 3D modeling, virtual reality, 3D printing, scanning, implementation of new materials and etc.
His enthusiasm can be seen from the numerous three-dimensional modeling manuals that he has prepared over the years. Vladimir has conducted training for construction companies on the effective use of SketchUp application and how it can fill the effectiveness gap where other CAD applications cannot. During these training sessions, a special emphasis is given to the idea of Information Modeling and the proper organization in the heavy civil industry. Additionally, his 3D modeling work was published by the American Society of Civil Engineers - ASCE, under the practice periodicals on structural design and construction. The paper was written based on a real-life beam erection scenario, in which Vladimir was heavily involved and where 3D modeling was used extensively to plan and test multiple critical girder pick.
Besides his everyday engineering obligations to current projects, Vladimir and his team are also involved as technical consultants for the development of new construction materials and his personal interest, construction beyond our planet.
