Minyona Mason

Author, Educator, Scientist, and Advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and the youth of the next generation.

She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health from University of Illinois Urbana and a Master’s of Science in Biotechnology from Rush University. Minyona’s passion for holistic and specialized care has been nurtured by her work with the advancement of equity of care and cultural competency within the medical field. She currently spends the majority of her time enriching students in all areas of academics, as well as working to improve plant science, and pursuing a future career as a physician.

Her chapter is inspired by our youth needing encouragement with their identity development in order overcome hard times and endure to the end. She is excited for you to join the journey of the authors of Beyond Beautiful and walk into your destiny.
