Karl Rowlands

Karl Rowlands is the author of children's books 'The Dreamy Wish of a Jellyfish' & 'The Giraffe, The Lizard & The Magical Wizard'.

Karl began his author journey after his son Ryan was born and developed a love for books, especially at bedtime. Karl found himself reading a book (or three) to his son pretty much every night since he was born and was in awe at how much his son loved the stories to the point he was able to recite the entirety of Julia Donaldson's 'The Gruffalo' at just aged two.

It had always been a dream to write a children's book, but when Karl found himself hosting a lockdown quiz, he stumbled upon a general knowledge question about jellyfish never sleeping since they don't have a brain - thus, his first book was born.

Following the success of his first book in 2021, he released his second book in 2023 about two best friends who wish they were different but they soon discover they were perfect all along!

Karl lists his inspirations as Dr. Seuss & Julia Donaldson.
