Julian Cappelli

Julian is an accountant by day, so it’s only natural he has written a book about counting. Block Party is the second book he has written for his son Olli and he sees it as supporting his development. It was inspired by him playing with and organising his playing blocks by colour and stacking them.

Block Party was the second book Julian wrote and was illustrated together with his father-in-law A T Selvakumaran. The first book written and published was The Missing Cupcake, centred around a birthday cupcake which goes missing and the babies find clues from familiar friends on their way to the lake to solve who took the missing cupcake.

Julian is also working on the second draft of a magical realism, adventure novel for 7 to 12 year old readers.

Julian lived the first thirty years of his life in Australia before moving to the United Kingdom, where met his wife, Theepa. He lives with his son, two step daughters and wife in Berkshire.
