Amanda Kidd was born in Kentucky but did most of her living in Tennessee. She began writing her blog, Love, Jimmie, in 2011 and stuck with it even after the blog world fell apart. Her dedication to blogging morphed into personal essay writing and also content writing for her favorite volunteer/charity organizations. She loves taking van-loads of senior citizens to dinner and fostering dogs, then crying her guts out when they get adopted or move on. In addition to the variety of topics she likes to wrestle with on her keyboard, she began writing a series of essays meant to honor the Lord during COVID which preserved her sanity and her writing ability. As a gift to herself and her family, she and her friend, Jamie McKean Hodges, published their essays under the title Prayers from the Front Porch. Their next personal essay challenge will begin again soon, and if you’d like to participate, you may contact them at prayersfromthefrontporch@gmail.com. Amanda currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
